Our Mission

Team Velocity – Skulls SC is dedicated to developing players, first in character, then teamwork, skill, and ability. We believe in developing the Total Player.

We at Team Velocity – Skulls SC are dedicated to the quality development of both the player and person.

We strive to educate and train youth in teamwork and individual excellence. We aim to develop players and equip them with the skills necessary to advance in competitive soccer. We take considerable pride in providing an environment that is fun, safe and friendly, and that nurtures player confidence, positive self-esteem and good sportsmanship. Our aim is to provide a fertile environment for learning and improving the skills of players who have demonstrated the desire and potential to succeed in a more competitive setting.

We choose not to compromise development for the sake of immediate results.  Success will be measured not purely based on wins and losses, but based on improved fundamentals, skills, tactical knowledge of the game, teamwork and the ability to play in more than one position. We believe that a focus on development without compromise, will lead to results that can be sustained over the long term.

Our principle goals are:

1. To help develop potential of individuals so that they succeed in life, school, personal, social and athletic activities.

2. To provide a club atmosphere that creates a sense of family, community and loyalty, and promotes a passion for the game of soccer.

3. To develop in young players the highest standards of conduct and self-discipline based on philosophy of treating players, parents, other coaches, league officials, and the game itself, with dignity and respect.

History of the Skulls SC – Why the Skulls that is such a tough name!

It all started on a Halloween morning at a MDA fundraiser when the core of the u12 teams were 5and 6 years old. Coach Eddie was working at the MDA fundraiser and was in charge of the face painting. He painted a pretty good Skulls face on one of the boys and they all wanted to be Skull faces. Coach Eddie did not think twice all the boys had cools Skull faces. He assumed the boys would go home wash their faces before their afternoon game. He was wrong –the boys showed up hours later to the game with their faces still in make up and worst yet runny make up. The Boys proceed to trounce the opposing team 19-0 and the legend of the Skulls began. He has heard from some of the players of the opposing team and has been told that they were mortified to play the boys and remember the game. Every Halloween that there is a game the boys put on the face paint and play as Skulls!  That is how we became the Skulls!
